Overview
Stormforge is an independent World of Warcraft server focused on the Mists of Pandaria (MoP) expansion. It launched in 2022 from the merger of two veteran teams: Tauri WoW, a Hungarian project running since 2009, and Apollo, an international MoP server. The merger concentrated the expertise of the best MoP developers into a single project.
Stormforge positions itself as a reference-quality MoP server with progressive content: raids and dungeons unlock in sequence, recreating the original expansion experience. Its raid-encounter scripting is considered some of the best in WoW emulation, regardless of expansion.
History
The story of Stormforge is tied to two predecessor projects. Tauri WoW, launched in Hungary in 2009, was for years regarded as the gold standard of MoP emulation. The Tauri team built its own server core and reached an exceptional level of PvE content scripting.
Apollo, launched somewhat later, also specialized in MoP and drew a sizeable international audience. Both teams worked independently on improving MoP emulation, and their merger was a logical step toward a project that would surpass either predecessor on its own.
In 2022, the merger was announced under the Stormforge brand. The combined team reused work from both projects to build a new server with progressive MoP content. The launch drew major attention from the WoW community, and the first weeks saw very high player counts.
From 2022 to the present, Stormforge has steadily unlocked MoP content, from the opening dungeons to the final raids. Each progression step ships with careful script tuning, ensuring a high-quality experience. The project continues to grow and attract new players.
Gameplay
Gameplay on Stormforge reproduces the Mists of Pandaria experience with high accuracy. Leveling from 1 to 90 takes you through every original zone with working quests and scripts. The MoP talent system — a major departure from earlier WoW versions — is fully implemented.
PvE content is Stormforge's strongest suit. MoP raids are among the best in WoW history, and here they are reproduced at the highest quality. Mogu'shan Vaults, Heart of Fear, Terrace of Endless Spring, Throne of Thunder and Siege of Orgrimmar — every raid is built with attention to every boss mechanic.
The Mythic+ dungeon format does not exist in original MoP (it arrived in Legion), but standard heroic dungeons and scenarios work correctly. Dungeons serve as a stepping stone between leveling and raid content.
PvP includes arenas (2v2, 3v3, 5v5), battlegrounds and rated battlegrounds. MoP PvP balance differs from WotLK and is considered one of the best in WoW history, making PvP on Stormforge appealing to competitive players.
The progressive content model means raids unlock in sequence rather than all at once. Players clear content in the same order it released during the original MoP, which keeps every raid feeling current and fuels guild competition.

Guild competition for the fastest raid clears (Race to World First) is one of the community's driving forces. When each new raid opens, top guilds compete for the first clear, drawing viewers and fueling discussion.
The project's Discord server is the main hub for communication. News is posted there, balance and mechanics are debated, and groups form and guilds recruit. Moderation is handled professionally with clear rules.
Stormforge has an active presence on social media and community forums. Update announcements and new content openings draw attention from the wider WoW community, and every major release brings a wave of new players.
