WoWCircle is one of the largest independent MMORPG projects built on World of Warcraft. Live since 2010, it stands out from rivals by running realms for nearly every major WoW expansion — from Wrath of the Lich King all the way to Shadowlands. That multi-version approach lets players pick the exact era of the game they like best.

History
WoWCircle launched in 2010 as a WoW project running Wrath of the Lich King realms. In its early years the project followed the standard WotLK server model, offering realms with different rates and the usual content.
The turning point came when the team expanded its lineup, adding Cataclysm support in 2012 and Mists of Pandaria in 2013-2014. This was an ambitious move, since emulating later expansions is far harder technically. Despite early scripting issues, the expansion pulled in a wave of new players.
In 2016-2017 WoWCircle added Legion realms, followed by Battle for Azeroth and Shadowlands in later years. Each new expansion demanded heavy development and debugging work, and emulation quality steadily improved with every update.
By the mid-2020s WoWCircle had established itself as one of the oldest continuously running WoW projects. More than 15 years of uptime and a broad realm selection give it a stable player base, even against newer and more specialized projects.
Gameplay
The experience on a WoWCircle realm depends on the chosen expansion and rate. WotLK realms offer the full standard content of the expansion: dungeons, raids (Naxxramas, Ulduar, Trial of the Crusader, Icecrown Citadel), battlegrounds and arenas. WotLK scripting is solid, comparable to other major projects.
Later-expansion realms offer their respective content: Cataclysm, Mists of Pandaria, Legion dungeons and raids, and beyond. Scripting quality varies — WotLK and Cataclysm are the most polished, while later expansions can have rough edges in certain mechanics.
WoWCircle's fun realms offer instant max level, free gear and arena as the core endgame. These realms are popular with players who want to test different classes and specs without spending time leveling.
PvP content is available on every realm. Arenas and battlegrounds work correctly and rated seasons run regularly. On WotLK realms, PvP is one of the most polished parts of the experience.
The realm economy works as expected: the auction house, professions and daily quests keep the in-game market moving. High-rate realms have a less stable economy because of the accelerated flow of resources.
