TL;DR: EuroAion is a large independent Aion 7.x server built around PvPvE โ€” Fortress Sieges, Abyss control and faction warfare. It pairs lighter monetization and faster leveling with a stable, multilingual European community of 1,000โ€“3,000 players.

Overview

EuroAion is the largest European independent server built on the MMORPG Aion, running on version 7.x. Aion, developed by NCSoft, is known for its PvPvE concept โ€” a three-way conflict between two playable factions and the NPC Balaur race โ€” and for its signature aerial combat.

EuroAion draws players who are unhappy with the state of the official servers: aggressive monetization, declining population and a lack of updates for the European region. The project offers a stable game world with an active community and 1,000โ€“3,000 players online.

History

Aion launched in Korea in 2008 and internationally in 2009, becoming one of the most successful MMORPGs of its era. The European version was published by Gameforge. For over a decade the game received regular updates, but by 2018โ€“2019 the European servers faced a serious drop in population, made worse by controversial monetization.

EuroAion launched in 2019, built by a team of enthusiasts who wanted to give the European audience a stable Aion world with fair monetization and active PvPvE content. The project grew quickly, drawing veterans frustrated with the state of Gameforge's official servers.

By 2026 EuroAion is a mature project with a steady population. The team ships regular updates, adapting content from the Korean version and applying its own balance changes. It runs Fortress Sieges, seasonal events and tournaments to keep the community active.

Gameplay

EuroAion's gameplay is based on Aion 7.x, which includes every class, zone and system NCSoft built up to that patch. The two factions โ€” Elyos and Asmodians โ€” fight each other and the NPC Balaur race in a PvPvE loop that shapes the entire experience.

The class system features more than 10 specializations: Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Ranger, Sorcerer, Spirit Master, Cleric, Chanter, Gunslinger, Songweaver, Aethertech and Painter. Each class has a unique skill set, group role and combat style. Combat mixes tab-targeting with skill chains that reward well-timed activation.

ContentWhat it offers
Instances (dungeons)PvE for groups of 3 to 12, scaling from easy to hardcore endgame modes that demand boss-mechanic knowledge and party coordination.
Transformation systemA late-Aion mechanic granting major stat bonuses; a core part of endgame power.
Fortress SiegesHundreds of players fight for fortress control in the Abyss and on the mainland, unlocking unique resources and faction status.
AbyssThe central PvPvE zone with full 3D space where flight is decisive.
Arena & BattlegroundsInstanced PvP for small groups.

PvP is the heart of Aion. Fortress Sieges pull in hundreds of players as factions battle for fortresses that grant access to unique resources and prestige. The Abyss is the central PvPvE zone, a 3D arena where flight is decisive, while Arenas and Battlegrounds deliver instanced small-group PvP.

Features

EuroAion's defining feature is reworked monetization. On the official servers, selling enchant stones and transformations created a gap between paying and free players; EuroAion minimizes the impact of real money on progression. The cash shop is limited to cosmetics and convenience services.

Faster leveling lets you reach endgame content โ€” sieges, raids and PvP โ€” sooner. That matters most for new players, who in stock Aion faced a long grind before the interesting content even started.

Regular Fortress Sieges are EuroAion's centerpiece. The siege schedule is published in advance, and these events draw the highest online. Fortress control carries real economic and strategic weight for each faction.

The EuroAion team also runs seasonal activities, PvP tournaments and special events, keeping content varied and players engaged between major updates.

Community

The EuroAion community is mostly European, with a strong presence of Russian-, German-, Polish- and English-speaking players. This multilingual mix reflects the diversity of Aion's European audience. The main hubs are the Discord server, the forum and social media.

Legions (guilds) are central to endgame. Organized legions dominate sieges and PvP rankings, and the rivalry between them drives a dynamic metagame. Newcomers can join beginner legions and follow detailed guides.

Faction balance is a constant topic in the community. As in stock Aion, one faction can temporarily dominate, which affects content availability and how appealing the world is to new players. The EuroAion team takes steps to keep balance, including bonuses for the underpopulated faction.
