Overview

Scryde is an MMORPG project developed by Scryde Tech since 2015. Started by a small studio, over 11 years it grew into one of the largest MMORPG projects in Russia and Europe. The project stands out for its custom game mechanics, its own locations and active community work. Right now Scryde offers several servers with different rates and features, tied together by a shared ecosystem and a single authentication system, Scryde ID.

Unlike many projects in the MMORPG genre, Scryde bets on long-term, wipe-free development, regular content updates through a stage system, and tight community integration via Telegram, Discord and its own media tools. Comparable projects in the genre include Albion Online, Throne and Liberty and Tarisland, but Scryde sets itself apart with its PvP focus, deep mechanics customization and independence from major publishers.

History

The history of Scryde is a step-by-step evolution from a small grassroots project into a large MMORPG platform with thousands of concurrent players and its own technology base.

2015 โ€” Launch

The Scryde project was founded in 2015 by a small studio. The first server launched with minimal resources but quickly drew attention thanks to its stability and quality of administration. From day one it set the principles that later became the project's hallmark: no wipes, fair administration and an open dialogue with players.

2017 โ€” Expanding the server lineup

In March 2017 an x50-rate server opened, aimed at a mid-paced PvP playstyle. In July of the same year an x1000 server launched, built for extreme PvP with instant character progression. Both servers attracted a large audience and expanded the project's reach beyond Russia.

2018โ€“2020 โ€” Growing the team and media

During this period the development team grew significantly. Scryde Radio launched โ€” a community radio broadcasting music and news for players. The first custom mechanics that set Scryde apart from typical genre projects were developed. Work began on a proprietary launcher and anti-bot systems.

2021โ€“2023 โ€” Customization and original content

This stage marked a shift from standard content to fully custom solutions. The team built its own locations with reworked zones, new creatures and quests. A costume and accessory system tied to events and achievements was introduced. Classes were reworked โ€” new skills, dashes, AoE abilities and buffs were added. A talent system with 100+ skills across three branches was created.

January 2024 โ€” Scryde X2

The launch of the flagship Scryde X2 server was a turning point in the project's history. The classic-rate server attracted both veterans and a new audience. X2 became the testing ground for most of the custom mechanics that were later scaled to the other servers.

July 2024 โ€” Online record

In July 2024 a record was set: more than 12,000 players online at the same time. This milestone confirmed the project's appeal and the soundness of its chosen development strategy.

2025 โ€” Scryde ID, streaming, x100

In 2025 the Scryde ID system was introduced โ€” single sign-on with OAuth support via Google, Telegram, Discord, VKontakte and Facebook. In-client streaming launched, letting players broadcast gameplay without third-party software. An x100-rate server opened, filling the niche between x50 and x1000.

January 2026 โ€” The new Scryde X

The launch of the revamped Scryde X server set the project's all-time record: more than 18,000 players online at the same time. The server offered a low rate and a completely overhauled stage system, delivering gradual content unlocks and an even playing field for everyone.

February 2026 โ€” Olympiad record

In February 2026 an Olympiad record was set: 1,456 arenas in a single game period. This achievement confirmed that PvP remains the core draw for the Scryde audience.

March 2026 โ€” Chapter III and tournament

In March 2026 the third content stage (Chapter III) was released, with new zones, bosses and mechanics. At the same time a tournament with a $10,000 prize pool was announced and held, drawing attention from the PvP community well beyond the project's regular audience.

May 2026 โ€” Scryde X100: Season Six

On May 22, 2026, season six of the revamped Scryde X100 server began. The season brought a progress reset, equal starting conditions for new and returning players alike, and a refined stage system.

June 2026 โ€” "Era of Valakas" on Scryde X

On June 1, 2026, the Scryde X server receives the major "Era of Valakas" update. It adds new content and activities tied to one of the project's strongest bosses โ€” Valakas.

Gameplay

Scryde is an MMORPG with a strong focus on PvP content, clan wars and large-scale battles. Players have a wide choice of classes, each with its own skill set and group role. The class system covers fighters, mages, archers, healers and support, and every class has custom reworks that set it apart from the genre's standard archetypes.

Character leveling depends on the server you pick: on low-rate servers (X, X2) it takes considerable time and involves working through content step by step, while on high-rate servers (X50, X1000) you can quickly hit max level and focus on PvP.

A key part of the gameplay is castle sieges โ€” massive clan battles with hundreds of players at once. Sieges run on a schedule and demand strategic preparation, coordination between alliances and smart use of class abilities. Beyond sieges, PvP content includes the Olympiad (1v1 and 3v3), open-world mass PvP and organized tournaments with prize pools.

Custom Mechanics

Scryde differs from most MMORPG projects with an extensive set of custom mechanics built by the Scryde Tech team. These systems are constantly expanded and tuned based on community feedback.

Talent system

Each class gets access to a talent tree with more than 100 skills spread across 3 branches. Talents let you tailor your character to a specific playstyle โ€” whether that's mass PvP, duels or PvE farming. Your talent choices have a major impact on a class's effectiveness in different situations.

Reworked classes

Standard classes received new skills: dashes for melee, extra AoE abilities for mages, and stronger buffs for support. The rework aims to make combat more dynamic and broaden each class's tactical options.

Personal farms

Every player gets access to a personal instanced farm โ€” a dedicated zone where you can grow plants, gather resources and develop your homestead. The farm visually evolves as you progress, unlocking new options and resources. The system adds management and long-term planning to the gameplay.

Division system

The division system lets you earn epic gear through strategic decisions rather than just clan size. It levels the playing field for small but well-organized groups, raising competitiveness and variety in the PvP scene.

Game of Cards

A collectible mini-game integrated into the core gameplay. Players collect cards earned through various achievements and use them for bonuses. The system adds an extra layer of motivation and collecting.

Stage system

Content on Scryde servers unlocks gradually through a stage system (Chapters). Each new stage adds zones, bosses, gear and mechanics, keeping starting conditions even and content fresh. The stage system prevents new players from falling hopelessly behind veterans.

Custom locations

The development team created reworked zones with new creatures, quests and visual design. The custom locations offer unique content unavailable in other MMORPG projects, and they're regularly updated as new stages release.

Costumes and accessories

A cosmetic customization system lets you earn unique costumes and accessories for taking part in events and for achievements. These visual elements don't affect combat performance but serve as a marker of a player's status and activity.

Scryde ID

A single sign-on system supporting OAuth login via Google, Telegram, Discord, VKontakte and Facebook. Scryde ID unifies all of the project's servers and services under one account, simplifying character management and access to the Scryde ecosystem.

In-client streaming

Since 2025 the Scryde game client supports built-in streaming, letting you broadcast gameplay without third-party software. The feature is integrated into the launcher and requires no extra setup.

Scryde Radio

The project's community radio, broadcasting music and news for players. Scryde Radio has been running since 2018 and is part of the project's media ecosystem, keeping the community and developers connected.

Cat Orion

The project's mascot โ€” Orion the cat. Cat Orion appears as a Telegram bot (@ScrydeOrion_bot) that delivers promo codes, news and notifications to players. The mascot is used in promo materials and in-game events.

Proprietary launcher

Scryde.exe is a compact launcher of around 4 MB that handles automatic client installation, file updates and game startup. The launcher needs no manual setup and supports all of the project's servers.

Olympiad

The Olympiad system in Scryde includes 1v1 and 3v3 formats. To keep things fair it uses HWID verification along with an anti-drive system that prevents deliberate match-throwing. The Olympiad is one of the key PvP activities and regularly draws thousands of participants.

Anti-bot system

Scryde uses a comprehensive protection system: HWID binding, an anti-macro module and manual moderation of trades. The system is designed to keep the economy healthy and competition fair between players.

NPC buffer

To support solo players, Scryde implements an NPC buffer that grants basic buffs without needing to gather a party. The mechanic lowers the barrier to entry for newcomers and streamlines everyday farming.

Servers

As of 2026, the Scryde project runs four servers, each aimed at a specific audience and playstyle. All servers run wipe-free.

ServerRateFeaturesTarget audience
Scryde XLowGradual content unlocks, stage system, equal starting conditionsPlayers who prefer long-term progression
Scryde X2ClassicFlagship server, full set of custom mechanicsVeterans and hardcore players
Scryde X50MidFaster progression, PvP focusPvP-oriented players
Scryde X1000ExtremeInstant leveling, constant PvPPlayers who prefer pure PvP

The servers are unified by the shared Scryde ID system but have separate game worlds and economies. Character transfers between servers are not supported.

Community

The Scryde community is one of the largest MMORPG audiences in the Russian-speaking segment. The main communication channels are:

  • Telegram โ€” more than 50,000 subscribers across official channels and chats. Telegram is the main platform for news, discussion and interaction with the developers.
  • Discord โ€” the official Discord server is used for voice coordination, discussion and support.
  • Forum โ€” board.scryde.net โ€” a classic forum for in-depth discussion, guides and feedback.
  • Streamers and content creators โ€” an active streaming community has formed around the project, broadcasting sieges, PvP and content runs.

The developers keep in regular contact with the community across all of these channels, publishing dev diaries, running votes on key decisions and responding quickly to feedback.

Criticism

Among players' complaints are occasional performance issues in large-scale PvP battles, as well as debates around the monetization balance. Part of the community notes that the stage system limits access to content in the early phases. The developers regularly respond to feedback, adjusting balance and optimization with each new Stage.
