Overview
The Symbol Maker is the NPC that creates magical symbols, called Crests, for clans and alliances. Your Clan Crest and Alliance Crest are both uploaded through this NPC. You'll find a Symbol Maker in every major town, and it's the only NPC that lets you set your clan's visual identity — the crest appears next to character names and on clan cloaks.

Image Requirements
Before you upload, prepare an image in Windows BMP (bitmap) format. Each crest type has its own exact size:

The file must be uncompressed Windows BMP. Use any image editor (Paint, Photoshop, GIMP) to create it, then upload it through the game client in the Symbol Maker dialogue. If the format is wrong, the NPC refuses the upload. Tip: keep the design simple and recognizable — at these tiny resolutions, fine detail is lost.
Extra Functions
The Symbol Maker also lets you delete a crest if you want to remove the current symbol without replacing it, and preview the current crest to check how it looks. Some servers support larger crest sizes or extra formats. Uploading a crest is free, but you need clan level 3+ for a Clan Crest and an active alliance for an Alliance Crest. The crest is a key part of clan identity in castle sieges and PvP — it's how allies and enemies recognize your clan on the battlefield.
