Overview
Trading is the backbone of the Lineage 2 economy. You exchange items through private stores, the auction and direct trade. Knowing prices and trading well is a skill that pays off as much as your combat skills.
Private Stores
A Private Store is a trade stall you open right where you stand to buy or sell. The main hub is Giran. Use the /sell or /buy command, or the button in the action menu, then set your prices and a store title. While the store is open your character stays put — you cannot move or use skills.
Giran is the main trade city on most servers: the highest concentration of players and private stores. Looking for a specific item? Open a buy store — list what you need and your price.
Direct Trade
Click a player and pick "Trade". Both sides place their items and Adena, then confirm. Direct trade is safe — the system shows every item before you confirm.

Check items carefully. Scammers swap goods for similar but lower-value ones. Never hand over items "up front" to strangers.
Auction
The auction is built for expensive items. Visit the Auctioneer NPC in major towns. List an item with a starting price and a duration (24/48/72 hours). Buyers place bids — the highest wins. Canceling a lot costs a fee.
The auction works best for rare, expensive goods (top weapons, rare recipes, valuable accessories). It gives you a better chance of finding a buyer at a good price.
Trading Tips
Before you buy or sell, walk through the Giran private stores and learn the typical prices. Don't rush to sell expensive items — wait for peak online hours (weekend evenings). Open a buy store to hunt for bargains, since not every seller knows an item's real value.
When dealing through chat or the forum, always use safe trade. Never drop items on the ground. For Lineage 2 market prices, check the community (Telegram, Discord) or the forum.
