TL;DR: Valakas is the strongest of the three great dragons and one of the hardest Raid Bosses (RB) in the game. You reach him through the Forge of the Gods, register a full 72-player raid with Klein, then beat a long fire-element fight that demands tank rotation, mass healing and Fire Resist on every player. The reward is top-tier loot, headlined by the Valakas Necklace.

Overview

You reach Valakas through the Forge of the Gods. Climb several floors, clearing mobs as you go, then register with an NPC. You need a full raid โ€” 72 players. Valakas is the strongest of the three great dragons and one of the most demanding Raid Bosses in the game.

Path to Valakas

The Forge of the Gods is a volcanic zone southwest of Goddard. The route to the lair runs through three levels: lower (mobs 80โ€“82), middle (82โ€“84) and upper (84โ€“85). The mobs on every level are aggressive and strong, so push through in an organized formation. On the top level, find the NPC Klein and register your raid. Registration requires a Floating Stone โ€” an item that drops from the mobs in the Forge of the Gods. Once you register, a portal opens into Valakas's lair.

Raid Preparation

The minimum level is 80, but enter at 82+. Assemble 72 players (nine full parties). The required composition:

TanksSeveralRotate aggro so no single tank gets focused down.
Bishops3โ€“4Mass healing to keep the raid alive through AoE.
Prophet + SWS + BDOne per combat partyBuffs and song/dance support for every group.
DD (nukers / archers)The restCore damage; ranged is preferred to dodge melee mechanics.

Every player should bring jewelry with Fire Resist, a Blessed Scroll of Resurrection and a full stock of consumables. Without fire protection, Valakas's damage will be catastrophic.

Fight Mechanics

Valakas has an enormous HP pool and powerful fire-element AoE attacks. Learn the key mechanics before you pull:

MechanicEffectHow to handle it
Breath of FireFrontal cone attack with massive damage.Stay behind or to the side of the boss.
Tail StrikeTail attack against players behind him.Tanks control the boss's facing and position.
FearMass fear that scatters the raid.Apply Resist Fear before the fight begins.

The fight lasts 30โ€“60 minutes. Rotate tank aggro every 2โ€“3 minutes, and if the main tank dies, the backup picks up aggro immediately. The reward is some of the best loot in the game, including the Valakas Necklace โ€” the best necklace in its tier.
