TL;DR: The Prophet is the Human race's premier buffer. Your Prophecy buffs lift your party's effectiveness by 30-40%, which earns you a slot in any raid. Damage is low, so you level in a group โ€” but a strong Prophet is irreplaceable at endgame.

Overview

The Prophet is the main buffer of the Human race. You empower your party with a full set of Prophecy buffs, and without you a raid loses 30-40% of its effectiveness. At low levels an NPC Buffer or Adventurer Guide hands out buffs, but at endgame a live Prophet is irreplaceable.

Class path: Cleric โ†’ Prophet. You unlock the class through the 2nd class transfer quest at level 40. To compare the Prophet against other support classes, see the class tier list.

Key Skills

SkillBuffsWhat it does
Prophecy of WaterMagesRaises M.Atk and casting speed. Cast it on nukers: Spellhowler, Sorcerer, Necromancer.
Prophecy of FireMelee DDBoosts P.Atk and critical damage. The go-to buff for fighters: Destroyer, Tyrant, Hawkeye.
Prophecy of WindEveryoneIncreases Atk. Spd and movement speed. A universal buff useful for every class.
Greater Healโ€”Your main heal. In a small party you cover the healer role, but for full raid healing bring a Bishop.

Group Play

Every raid and every party wants you. Prophecy buffs raise the effectiveness of the whole group, so in raid content you sit in the support party alongside a Sword Singer and a Blade Dancer.

You're especially welcome on the Grand Bosses (Epic Bosses) โ€” Antharas, Valakas and Baium. Without your buffs the raid loses a third of its damage. The Orc alternative is the Warcryer with its Chant buffs.

Gear

You need casting speed and MP. Armor: the Majestic Robe Set (A-grade), or the DC Robe Set (C-grade as a starter). Weapon: an Acumen-augmented staff to cast buffs faster โ€” boost it with augmentation. For the full breakdown, see the equipment guide.

Leveling

Grind from level 1 to 20 on Talking Island, then find a party. Your first quest is The First Whisper. At level 40 complete the 2nd class transfer and become a full-fledged buffer. Solo leveling is rough โ€” your damage is low and a group makes all the difference. For a detailed plan, see the leveling guide. At level 75 pick up a DD subclass so you can farm on your own.
