Overview
Picking the right leveling spot in Lineage 2 depends on your server's rates, your class and whether you have a party. On high rates the early levels fly by and mob quality matters more than quantity; on classic-rate worlds, spawn density and a tight farming loop are king. New players should start with the beginner's guide to choose a class and learn the basics, then plan a level-by-level grind route.
Spots by Level
| Level | Spot | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1-20 | Starter zones & town outskirts | Easy mobs, fast XP. Great for learning your class. |
| 20-35 | Execution Grounds, Elven Fortress | High mob density โ ideal for AoE farming. |
| 35-50 | Cruma Tower & catacombs | One of the best spots for this range thanks to bonus XP and a clean farm loop. |
| 50-65 | Enchanted Valley, Dragon Valley | Dragons give strong XP but demand a party. |
| 65-75 | Varka/Ketra Outpost, Wall of Argos | Also farms faction materials and reputation. |
| 75+ | Primeval Isle, Stakato Nest | Top-tier endgame farm with valuable drops. |
Choose spots where the average mob level is close to yours: mobs that are too weak give little XP, while mobs that are too strong tank your accuracy and burn through consumables.
Party Leveling
A party of 5-9 players is the fastest way to level. The ideal composition is tank + healer (Bishop/Elder) + buffer (Prophet/Warcryer) + 2-3 DDs + Bounty Hunter for spoil. XP is split between members, but you kill mobs many times faster. Catacombs and necropolises grant bonus party XP. After level 65 a party is mandatory for most classes โ solo mobs are simply too tough. Keep buffs constantly refreshed, and have the tank build aggro early so nothing hits the healer or casters directly.
Solo Leveling
The best solo classes are the Destroyer (AoE Whirlwind), Sorcerer (AoE nukes), Necromancer (with a summon) and Tyrant (high damage). Pull mobs 2-4 levels below you โ they die fast and still give enough XP. Carry HP and MP potions and keep Soulshots/Spiritshots active. On low rates solo leveling is slower, but every drop and all the Adena are yours. For AoE classes, look for rooms with dense spawns and pull 5-8 mobs at a time while watching your mana so you don't run dry mid-pack.
Consumables & Gear
Leveling speed leans heavily on your consumables and gear. The golden rule is to always play with Soulshots (for fighters) or Spiritshots (for mages) active โ they multiply your damage and effectively save time. Keep a stock of healing and mana potions plus Scrolls of Return to town for quick inventory dumps. At the farming stage, weapon beats armor: a sharp weapon of the right grade (D→C→B) speeds up kills more than extra defense points. Don't skip buffs either โ even a solo player should buy buff sets from buffers or use summons and totems if the server offers them.
Common Beginner Mistakes
Typical mistakes that slow leveling: grinding mobs far above your level (low accuracy and heavy potion drain), playing without shots to save Adena (you lose more time than you save money), and skipping the key 1st class transfer quests. Beginners also tend to get stuck in one zone even when the next spot already gives more XP at their level. Before a class transfer, check the beginner's guide and bank Adena ahead of time for a gear-grade upgrade, so moving into a new level bracket doesn't turn into downtime.
