Overview
All equipment is split into grades: No-grade, D, C, B, A and S. Each grade requires a certain minimum level to equip.
Grades
No-grade / D: levels 1-39. C-grade: 40-51. B-grade: 52-60. A-grade: 61-75. S-grade: 76+. Swap your gear up as soon as you hit the required level.
Enchanting Gear
Enchanting is the main way to power up your equipment. The safe threshold is +3 for both weapons and armor. Above +3 there is a chance of failure: the item is destroyed and breaks down into crystals. Each +1 on a weapon adds roughly +3-4 P.Atk (physical) or +4 M.Atk (magic). Enchanting armor raises P.Def. On Top B worlds enchant decides everything: a +7 B-grade weapon competes with a plain A-grade.
Set Bonuses
A complete armor set (helmet + breastplate + gaiters + gloves + boots) grants a set bonus. What each set gives: Tallum Heavy โ P.Def and HP, DC Heavy โ P.Def and M.Def, Nightmare โ Evasion and speed, Majestic Leather โ P.Atk and crits, Majestic Robe โ casting speed and M.Def. Without a full set the bonus does nothing, so never mix pieces from different sets.
Gear by Class
Armor type is tied to your class role, and getting it wrong is costly. Heavy armor โ for tanks and melee: maximum P.Def, lower Evasion. Light armor โ for archers, daggers and berserkers: high Evasion, attack speed and crit. Robe โ for mages and healers: bonus MP, M.Def and casting speed.
What to enchant first
The universal priority rule: weapon first, then accessories, then armor. Damage speeds up Adena and XP farming faster than defense does, so an enchanted weapon pays for itself first. On melee fighters, add a Special Ability (SA) to the weapon and slot suitable stones via augmentation โ this adds active and passive effects on top of base stats.
Jewelry & Accessories
Rings, earrings and the necklace are an underrated slot. They grant MP, resistance bonuses and stats independent of your armor grade. From A-grade you add epic jewels from bosses (Queen Ant, Core, Orfen, Baium) โ these noticeably boost resistance to stuns, debuffs and elements, which is critical in PvP. Never leave jewelry slots empty even at the start: cheap D-C rings beat nothing.
Attributes and Soul Crystals
At high grades, weapons and armor are upgraded with the attribute system (elements), and weapons are ranked up via Gear Score and Soul Crystals. An elemental attribute on a weapon pierces the enemy's defense, while an attribute on armor cuts incoming damage from that element โ at epic bosses and in PvP this often decides the fight.
Common Mistakes
The top three beginner mistakes: enchanting and assembling low-grade sets that you replace after an hour of farming; pushing a weapon above +3 without a budget to rebuild it; and mixing armor from different sets and losing the set bonus. First learn the enchant mechanics and safe thresholds, then plan your build around your class โ it will save you weeks of farming.
