Overview
The Phantom Summoner is a Dark Elf summoner. You call the Nightmare, the strongest pet of all the summons. While your enemy deals with your pet, you control the fight from range.
Nightmare Pet
The Nightmare hits hard โ both physically and magically. In PvP your pet deals the bulk of the damage while you stay at a safe distance and steer the fight. Your opponent has to choose: hit the pet or chase you. Both options are bad for them.
The pet does not play itself: you have to recall it from focus fire in time, switch it onto the right target and keep it healed. A good Phantom Summoner manages the pet as actively as a normal character manages their own skills.
Key Skills
The Phantom Summoner's kit is built around three pillars: pet summoning and control, debuffs, and your own offensive magic.
| Skill Group | Role | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Pet Commands | Micro / control | Attack, recall and target-switch commands are the core of your micro. Pulling the Nightmare out of focus fire quickly decides most trades. |
| Debuffs & Control | Setup | Slows and defense reductions let the pet hit even harder while you safely hold distance. A well-timed debuff often beats one extra cast. |
| Offensive Magic | Burst / finisher | Your own spells finish targets off and punish anyone who tries to slip past the pet and reach you in melee. |
Build & Gear
Your core stat is INT: it directly boosts the damage and magic the whole class runs on. WIT speeds up casting and reaction, while MEN adds the MP pool you need for drawn-out fights. Stat priorities for gear:
| Stat | Priority | Why |
|---|---|---|
| INT | โ โ โ | Direct multiplier on your magic and the class's core damage. |
| Casting Speed (WIT) | โ โ โ | Faster casts mean faster reactions and more sustained output. |
| Max MP / MP regen (MEN) | โ โ | Keeps you and the pet topped up through long fights. |
| Robe set & resists | โ โ | Survivability for both you and the Nightmare. |
Equip a robe set, prioritize casting accuracy, and stack stats that keep both the pet and the character alive. While leveling, hold the "pet in the thick of it, you behind" style: you gain XP with almost no risk. It's handy to compare the development path with the neighboring summoners โ the Elemental Summoner and Warlock โ and along the Dark Elf mage line with the Necromancer.
PvP & PvE
PvP
In duels and mass PvP the Phantom Summoner is a master of positional play. The pet pressures and pins the enemy, debuffs break their defense, and you meter out damage from a safe distance. Your main job is to avoid being focused: use allies and terrain as cover.
PvE
While farming and hunting, the class barely loses HP: the Nightmare takes the hits while you heal it and finish targets with magic. This makes the Phantom Summoner one of the most comfortable summoners for solo leveling.
Pros & Cons
Strengths: a powerful all-round pet, safe farming, strong positional play in PvP, and a low entry barrier for beginners.
Weaknesses: your damage is heavily tied to the pet โ if the Nightmare dies or is locked down by crowd control, your pressure drops sharply. The class demands constant micro and careful MP management in long fights.
