Overview
This page collects the most common questions new Lineage 2 players ask, with short, practical answers. Use it as a starting point before diving into the detailed class and mechanics guides.
Getting Started
How do I start? Register an account, download the client and pick a server. Which server should I choose? If you want the full classic experience, go low-rate (x1). If you want a fast start and quick leveling, pick a high-rate server.
Classes
What class should a beginner pick? A Prophet will always get a party invite thanks to its buffs. A Destroyer offers powerful solo farming. A Hawkeye is your ranged-combat option. Can I change class? Yes โ through the subclass system at level 75, you can add and switch between additional classes.
Economy
How do I earn Adena? Grind mobs, spoil materials on a Bounty Hunter, craft items and trade them. Look at the table below for the main income sources.
| Source | What you do | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Mob farming | Grind packs of monsters at your level | Steady Adena and drops |
| Spoil | Spoil and sweep materials on a Bounty Hunter | Selling rare materials |
| Crafting | Craft gear and consumables to sell | Long-term passive income |
| Trading | Buy low, sell high on the market | Players who watch prices |
PvP & Olympiad
How do I join the Olympiad? Earn Noblesse status (the quest at level 75+) and register with the Olympiad Manager in any town. What does the Olympiad give? Points to buy unique hero weapons and the Hero title for a month. Can I PvP without penalties? Yes โ in the Olympiad, in siege zones and in duels. Killing a peaceful player in the open world gives you karma and turns you into a PK (player killer).
Technical Questions
The game lags โ what should I do? Lower your graphics settings, close background programs and check your connection. I can't log in to the server โ check the server status on the website or try a different connection. How do I run multiple windows? Lineage 2 supports multi-client, so you can run several copies of the game for your alts (a buffer, a crafter and so on).
