TL;DR: Crafting in Lineage 2 runs through the Warsmith class. Learn a recipe, gather Crystals and materials, then craft. Common recipes succeed 100%, Rare recipes (60-70%) unlock improved Foundation and Masterwork gear. It's the main path to cheap top-tier A- and S-grade equipment.

Overview

Crafting lets you create equipment through the Warsmith class. Prepare a recipe and the right materials (Crystals, parts), then craft. Crafting is the main route to top-tier gear.

Crafting Process

The basic steps:

StepWhat to do
1. Get the recipeDrops from mobs or bought from other players.
2. Gather materialsThrough drop, spoil or purchase.
3. Find a WarsmithA player Warsmith or a town NPC.
4. Start the craftRun the recipe to produce the item.

Recipes split into Common and Rare. Rare recipes produce items with improved stats (Foundation, Masterwork). A Warsmith must learn the recipe before using it โ€” once learned, it is bound permanently. NPC crafters in towns make only basic items. For A- and S-grade you need a player Warsmith with a high enough crafting skill.

Materials & Resources

What you'll need:

MaterialHow to get it
Crystals (Crystal D/C/B/A/S)Crystallize gear you no longer need.
Materials (Parts, Pieces, Blades, etc.)Drop from mobs or spoil with a Bounty Hunter.
Key MaterialRare components for top-tier gear.
GemstoneRequired for A- and S-grade crafting.

The Bounty Hunter (Spoiler) is the best class for gathering materials. The Spoil skill pulls extra resources from mobs on top of the normal drop.

Rates & Economy

Common recipes succeed 100% of the time. Rare recipes land at 60-70%. On a failure you lose the materials, but the recipe stays with the Warsmith. A Masterwork version drops automatically with a small chance when you craft from a Rare recipe.

Crafting drives the player economy. The Warsmith earns Adena on crafting services, the Bounty Hunter earns on selling materials, and everyone else supplies Crystals and recipes. The cost to craft an item is usually lower than the market price of a finished one โ€” use that to your advantage.
