Overview
The Gatekeeper is the teleport NPC. Talk to one to instantly travel between towns and zones for Adena, with the cost scaling to the distance you cover. It's the main way to move quickly across the world. You'll find a Gatekeeper in every town, usually in the central square.
Routes & Prices
Each Gatekeeper offers teleports to the nearest towns and farming spots. Prices vary with distance and server rates:
| Route type | Approx. cost (Adena) |
|---|---|
| Between neighboring towns | 1,000–5,000 |
| Between distant towns (e.g. Giran → Goddard) | 10,000–30,000 |
| Teleport into a farming zone | 3,000–15,000 |
| Low level (often up to 20–25) | Free |
On higher-rate servers (X50+) teleport costs may be adjusted. If a castle in the Gatekeeper's territory is owned by a clan with a high tax rate, the teleport price goes up. Most servers let early-level characters teleport for free until around level 20–25, which keeps the leveling start smooth.
Teleport Alternatives
The Gatekeeper isn't your only option. Here's how the main travel methods compare:
| Method | Destination | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Scroll of Escape | Nearest town | Cheap, bought with Adena, but no choice of destination. |
| Noblesse Gate | Any town | Instant teleport for Noblesse characters. Cheaper and far more convenient. |
| Scroll of Escape to Clan Hall | Clan hall | Returns you straight to your clan's hall. |
| On foot | Anywhere | Free but slow. Mounts (Strider, Wyvern) speed up overland travel. |
For Noblesse-status characters, the Noblesse Gate is the best everyday travel tool — it's both cheaper and faster than a standard Gatekeeper teleport. Some servers also add extra teleport options through custom NPCs or commands.
