TL;DR: Ivory Tower is the mage hub south of Oren. It's where you buy spellbooks for every magic class, grab enchant scrolls, and pick up mage 2nd class transfer quests. If you play a caster, you'll be back here often โ€” stock up on Adena first, because spellbooks are pricey.

Overview

Ivory Tower is the mage tower located south of Oren. It's the main hub for casters in the game world, packed with NPCs that sell spellbooks, magic scrolls and recipes. The tower spans several floors, each dedicated to a different school of magic. Nearby sits Cruma Tower, a dungeon tuned for groups around levels 35โ€“45.

NPCs & Services

The floors of Ivory Tower hold spellbook merchants for every magic class โ€” Sorcerer, Spellhowler, Necromancer, Bishop and more. This is where you pick up the spellbooks needed to learn new skills. You'll also find NPCs for trading magic items, a Gatekeeper for teleports and a Warehouse Keeper. The upper floors house magic masters selling rare enchant scrolls.

Warehouse KeeperStore and retrieve items and Adena.

Quests & NPCs

Ivory Tower is a key location for mage class quests. The 2nd class transfer quests for casters both start and finish here. Alchemy NPCs offer quests to craft magic items. The tower also hosts NPCs tied to the Seven Signs system โ€” they exchange Seal Stones and register you for the event. Spellbook quests likewise run through the NPCs in this location.

Tips

Every mage should visit Ivory Tower after level 40 โ€” the spellbooks sold here are required to learn key skills you can't get any other way. Bring plenty of Adena before you arrive, because spellbooks are expensive. If you're hunting a specific spellbook, check the NPCs on every floor โ€” stock varies by level. For farming near the tower, head to Cruma Tower or the Catacomb of Dark Omens.
