PvP Build Basics
A PvP build in Lineage 2 is the optimal mix of gear, dyes, augments and skills tuned for fighting other players. Your priorities shift in PvP: instead of maximizing mob damage, you stack survivability, speed and burst damage.
Before you lock in a PvP build, read the PvP guide for the core mechanics, and account for the PvP and karma system.
Fighter Builds
| Class | Build | Gear & Gameplan |
|---|---|---|
| Tyrant | Full STR | STR dyes and heavy armor (Tallum Heavy Set) for survivability, weapon with a Focus augment (crit rate). Chain Force Buster for an instant kill. |
| Hawkeye | Crit archer | Light armor (Majestic Leather Set) for maximum crit damage, Shyeed's Bow with an augment. Kite โ hold distance from your target. |
| Abyss Walker | DEX dagger | DEX build for max attack speed, light armor for mobility. Hide + Backstab is your bread-and-butter opener. |
Mage Builds
| Class | Build | Gear & Gameplan |
|---|---|---|
| Sorcerer | WIT nuker | Majestic Robe Set stacking WIT for casting speed, Staff of Evil Spirits or Arcana Mace with an Acumen augment. AoE control and mass damage on sieges. |
| Spellhowler | Burst nuker | Similar build, tuned for single-target burst. Prominence and Seal of Winter are your key PvP nukes. |
Dyes for PvP
Dyes shift your base stats. For PvP, run the setup that matches your role:
| Role | Dye setup | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Melee DD (max damage) | STR +4 / CON -4 | Highest P.Atk output for burst. |
| Melee DD (balanced) | STR +2 / CON -2 | Damage without sacrificing too much HP. |
| Mage | WIT +4 / MEN -4 | Faster casting speed for more nukes. |
| Tank | CON +4 / STR -4 | Extra HP and survivability. |
Apply dyes at the Symbol Maker. For more on class builds, see the tier list.
Augments for PvP
Augmentation is a core piece of your PvP build. Active augments are a huge edge: Heal restores HP in a clutch moment, Celestial Shield makes you invulnerable for a few seconds, and Wild Magic boosts casting speed. Rolling the augment you want takes many attempts and a solid stash of Adena for Gemstones.
Passive augments matter too. Fighters look for Focus (+crit rate) or Might (+P.Atk) โ they work constantly with no activation. Mages want Acumen (+casting speed). For the Olympiad, active augments are especially valuable: in a 1v1 format an extra Heal or shield can decide the match.
Tactics & Positioning
In mass PvP and on sieges, positioning beats your build. Mages (Sorcerer, Spellhowler) sit on the back line and pour AoE damage into enemy stacks. Archers (Hawkeye) work from max range, focusing enemy healers and mages. Melee (Tyrant, Abyss Walker) dive the back line and kill priority targets.
In duels and small skirmishes, skill timing decides everything. Don't dump all your big cooldowns at once: save your burst combo until the enemy has burned their defensive abilities. Track their cooldowns โ strike while their key skills are recharging. A Bishop in your group changes the math of any fight: even a weak build with a good healer beats a strong solo player.
